Lighthouse Youth & Family Services has one full-time Youth Worker Supervisor position at our Mecum House location. Mecum House is a homeless shelter for 10 to 17 year old who have nowhere else to turn. There is always someone to listen and offer support. The doors are always open and we provide a safety and care for young people who don't feel safe in their own homes or don't have a place to call home. No youth are ever turned away. available
The schedule for this position is as follows:
Monday through Friday from 2 pm-10 pm
Pay starting at $20 an hour
Essential Functions:
- Supervise Youth Worker staff in an emergency shelter services.
- Train and oversee client skill development, educational success and overall well-being while receiving shelter care.
- Coordinate staff schedules to ensure proper shift coverage for the facility at all times.
- Cover shifts as needed and necessary.
- Ensure effective on-call schedule for all shifts.
- Schedule and conduct training for staff in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the program.
- Oversee and coordinate all social/recreational outings for the residents. Ensuring proper supervision levels for community outings.
- Collaborate with the team at Lighthouse Mecum House to ensure consistency with program, staff and training.
- Document any significant events in the log and progress notes, complete incident reports when appropriate.
- Ensure team members are effectively trained, conduct regular supervisions and ensure all staff procedures and policies are adhered to.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 25 years of age (to operate15-passenger agency vehicle).
- Experience working with adolescent youth.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Experience with or willingness to learn and apply trauma-informed care principles.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
