LightIC Technologies is seeking to hire a talented and motivated Silicon Photonics Engineer to join our rapidly growing R&D team. Key Responsibilities :
Design and optimize silicon photonics devices using photonic simulation tools
Understand silicon photonics fab processes to consider design-process interactions and drive device layout
Collaborate with foundry partners and lead tape-outs
Define test plans for devices and systems and assist in execution
Work closely with the cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the silicon photonics chip into the overall system
Prototype and validate the integrated photonic systems
Required Qualifications :
M. S. with 5 years of experience in silicon photonics design and testing, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or a related field with 3 years of experience
Hands-on experience in silicon photonics device design, layout, and testing, ideally in a product development environment
Strong background in photonic devices, including couplers, switches, lasers, detectors, and other passive and active components
Experience with silicon photonics chip testing, including fiber-to-chip coupling and use of common testing equipment such as tunable lasers, oscilloscopes, etc.
Knowledge of silicon or III-V photonics chip packaging
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with an engineering mindset and a hands-on, get-stuff-done attitude
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex challenges and troubleshoot device issues
Preferred Qualifications :
Hands-on experience with silicon or III-V photonic component design, such as lasers, detectors, waveguides, gratings, etc.
Experience with photonic circuit design for optical communication or sensing
System-level validation experience of silicon photonics products
Knowledge of LiDAR working principles
