Key Responsibilities
- Division Growth & Development
- Identify and secure a physical location for our new Charlotte division.
- Recruit, hire, and train top-tier electricians and field service technicians.
- Lead the charge on business development and establish strong customer relationships.
- Service Operations & Execution
- Coordinate, plan, and schedule service work to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee ongoing maintenance schedules for service accounts, ensuring top-quality work and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients through regular site visits and quality control inspections.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Foster a safe and positive work environment; implement and enforce company policies and safety practices.
- Supervise staff by communicating job expectations, monitoring performance, and conducting evaluations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to determine whether employees are qualified to perform specialized tasks.
- Customer & Business Development
- Proactively market LMI’s services to potential customers; generate leads and close new business.
- Participate in formulating long-range goals for the Service Division; monitor progress and pivot as needed.
- Handle customer requests and resolve issues promptly, ensuring high-level service and satisfaction.
- Financial & Administrative Management
- Prepare estimates for service projects, manage budgets, and track costs.
- Coordinate with administration on correct billing procedures and approvals.
- Meet or exceed annual service department revenue and profit margin goals.
- Local Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the Charlotte area, with established contacts in both service and construction.
- Technical Expertise: Thorough knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the electrical/lighting trade.
- Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of service projects from start to finish—planning, cost tracking, billing, and reporting.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to recruit, motivate, and lead a team of skilled technicians; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive Mindset: Always alert and ready for action, rather than waiting for tasks or direction.
- Safety Orientation: Commitment to safe work practices; knowledge of OSHA standards and accident investigation.
- Business Acumen: Capable of building client relationships and driving business growth in a competitive environment.
