The Manager of Marketing, Promotions, and CSR will oversee a range of responsibilities, including securing cooperative vendor promotions, managing internal and external communications for offers and promotions, and coordinating Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. This role demands creativity, initiative, and an analytical approach to improve the company's visibility, retain customers, re-engage lapsed customers, and attract new audiences.
This position requires strong collaboration with various departments, including compliance, accounting, operations, and inventory, while ensuring adherence to relevant MED rules and regulations. The candidate must demonstrate a high level of organization, leadership, and the ability to build lasting vendor and partner relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Vendor and Promotions Management
- Build and maintain vendor relationships to secure discounts, deals, promotions, and giveaways.
- Develop and implement retail and sales promotions in collaboration with vendors.
- Schedule and manage all in-store pop-ups with vendors and maintain pop-up calendars.
- Campaign Development and Execution
- Design, sell, and merchandise advertising display opportunities for consistency across the enterprise.
- Work alongside the creative team to develop marketing assets for print and digital campaigns, ensuring alignment on pricing information, promotional details, and creative assets.
- Craft and deploy social media content while adhering to legal limitations and platform regulations.
- Update and maintain Google Local listings for store accuracy.
- Create and deploy email and app campaigns for a loyalty program of 104,000 members through AlpineIQ, including customer-facing giveaways and contests.
- Customer Engagement and Review Management
- Manage and respond to all online reviews (Google, Yelp, social media, Reddit, etc.) and customer service inquiries through various platforms.
- Attend to Google reviews and direct customer service emails, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Internal Collaboration and Communication
- Schedule and manage internal sales contests, coordinating with teams and participating vendors as needed.
- Craft a weekly marketing email for the company, summarizing all relevant marketing information and materials.
- Communicate daily with store teams to address marketing issues and in-store needs.
- Advertising and Performance Analysis
- Explore advertising platform relationships and pricing (e.g., Weedmaps, AlpineIQ, Westword, Rooster, Sensi, Cannapages, Cannasaver, LeafBuyer, Denver Magazine).
- Analyze marketing initiatives and success rates using data reports, working with Hybrid and GMs to optimize spending and performance.
- Set up and manage online deals on platforms such as Weedmaps and Reddit.
- CSR and Event Coordination
- Plan and execute events, including quarterly vendor nights, volunteer activities, and donation drives.
- Assist with Corporate Social Responsibility programming to support company initiatives.
- Store Aesthetics and Branding
- Oversee store décor, including furniture, rugs, lighting, paint, shelving, and other items to enhance customer shopping experiences.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- High level of business acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Reliable and consistent performance with a strong work ethic.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Point of Sale software, SEO, and relevant advertising platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate long-term vendor relationships.
- Proficient in problem-solving, creative thinking, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of the cannabis industry and relevant regulations (preferred).
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing and sales experience.
- Prior communications and writing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and handle multiple tasks.
