The Millwright position will need to demonstrate good project management skills as well as be able to communicate efficiently and effectively within their team, between departments and within the international project teams. The position will also act as a proxy for the Maintenance Manager of the department.
These positions work 4x10 hour weekday shifts 5:45am-4:15pm. Every 6th week (depending on how many techs there are) they will work a swing shift (12pm-10pm) and be on call through the weekend.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support and further improve a proactive safety, health and environmental system that meets the required standard and legal requirements when conducting process improvements; knowledge of working in confined space entry protocol, energy isolation, lockout/tagout and line-breaking procedures.
- Further develop maintenance procedures and standards as well as lead standardization of equipment and major overhauls/outages to promote best practices within the plant.
- Work directly with the Manufacturing Operations Team to support defined continuous improvement activities and attend daily shift meetings as a standard participant.
- Directly respond and remedy any specific maintenance needs due to alarms, leaks or repairs- such as replacing fittings, repair pumps/exchangers, instrumentation faults. Assist and perform required weld repairs.
- Conduct fault finding, repair or replace items such as compensators, gaskets, seals, various motors, switches, starters and circuit breakers. Work directly with electrical panels with cleaning and/or replacing filters as needed; address any electrical wiring issue causing faults in DCS.
- Assist with planning plant preventative maintenance (PM) activities in SAP with the manufacturing operations team and executing agreed PM plan; ensure PM schedule adherence is held. Coordinate and execute shutdown activities.
- Continuously improve a cost effective spare parts system to support internal/external customer requirements. Assist with larger scale plant expansion or overhaul projects that support increasing production volume.
- Monitor and improve equipment failures with a thorough investigation and use of systematic problem solving techniques to ensure root cause is found and eliminated.
- Analyze equipment and operating data to baseline design parameters to enable deviation detection.
- Assist with quotation requests and purchase order packages for procurement of required maintenance items/projects.
- Apply Lean Thinking with respective principles and tools to which enable good practice sharing world-wide among the LignoTech manufacturing sites.
- Develop and maintain personal cross-training matrix to promote personal development and improve flexibility within the Maintenance department.
- Provide mentoring and assistance with technical training for maintenance related topics to respective work teams.
- Assist Maintenance Manager directly with site contractors, projects or vacation coverage as needed; daily feedback to the Maintenance department on key plant issues especially within their responsibility
- Team player and able to build and maintain positive work relationships within LignoTech Florida and external between the sites and respective vendors.
- Sound understanding and can demonstrate knowledge of fluid mechanics and respective components such as valves, pumps, agitators.
- Able to read diagrams/schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Able to use electrical instrumentation and devices such as PLCs, low-/medium- and high-voltage electrical fault finding equipment, flow and level transmitters.
- Able to conduct most mechanical equipment repairs as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems and use measurement tools such as Vernier calipers, dial indicators, levels and alignment tooling.

Minimum Requirements:
- 5-10 years related work experience.
- Completed certification, apprenticeship or accredited technical education to qualify as Millwright or equivalent.
- Able to read diagrams/schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Operate mandatory PPE and rigging equipment to install or repair equipment safely; able to work in confined space such as vessels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applying quality and problem solving tools with impact on Key Performance Indicators.
- Able to lead and execute projects effectively and efficiently in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in related field of Bio-Fuel or Chemical processing.
- Demonstrated ability in various welding applications.
- Experience with SAP regarding PM activity planning and spare part ordering.
- Knowledge of DCS operations; Delta V system or similar.
- Associates degree or higher level of education.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge or related certification(s).
- Demonstrated high aptitude for analytical thinking and project implementation.
- Experience in plant/production start-up or expansion projects.
- Has led medium-to-large size scale improvement projects and/or operational leadership experience.
