Key Responsibilities of a Daycare Floater
Classroom Support:
Assist lead teachers across various classrooms with daily routines, including feeding, diapering, dressing, playtime, and activity transitions.
Open lunches and snacks for children in each room, ensuring they receive assistance as needed.
Set up and store nap mats, helping children transition smoothly into and out of rest time.
Substitute Teaching:
Step in for absent teachers, leading classroom activities and following established lesson plans as needed.
Child Supervision & Safety:
Monitor children's safety and well-being, ensuring appropriate supervision ratios are maintained throughout the facility.
Cleaning & Sanitation:
Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and conducting routine cleaning tasks.
Perform daily afternoon cleaning of the Trees Room, ensuring all surfaces, toys, and materials are properly sanitized and organized.
Communication & Collaboration:
Effectively communicate with staff regarding children's needs, progress, and daily activities.
Child Development Awareness:
Apply knowledge of child development stages to support age-appropriate interactions and activities.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Child Development Knowledge: Understanding of developmental milestones and best practices for different age groups.
Flexibility & Adaptability:
Ability to transition between classrooms and age groups as needed.
Physical Stamina: Capability to lift and carry children, bend, kneel, and actively engage in playtime.
Qualifications: - Previous experience working with children in a classroom, nannying, or special education setting - First aid and CPR certification preferred - Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices - Ability to educate and engage children in various activities - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Patience, compassion, and understanding when working with children - Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities We offer competitive pay based on experience.
