What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Kitchen Manager position at Lil's Cafe?
Job Purpose:
AKM supports the KM/GM by supervising day to day operations in their department. KMs may share in or own any aspects of running the shift as directed by the KM/GM.
Responsibilities:
- Run daily operations; oversee all team members (FOH and BOH)
- Deliver any necessary discipline in a timely manner
- Meet with other managers weekly; team leads at least every other week
- Foster an environment of creativity, productivity and sense of urgency
- Effectively communicate and work with all managers, leads and team members
- Make decisions based on what’s best for Lil’s, the guests and the staff
- Ordering and inventory
- Constant communication with all
- Being lead trainer for any new team leads.
- Provide clear communication in all reports at the end of the day.
- Respond to any food/beverage safety or quality issues, taking action to protect reputation and standards.
- Support change efforts, ideas and other managers.
- Model Lil’s culture of pride, ownership, flexibility and desire to exceed expectations.
- Educate staff on all aspects of Lil’s culture and support it in communications and actions.
- Help design and run staff meetings, summits, etc.
- Maintain a clean environment (kitchen, line,, storage, etc.) at all times
- Analyze labor and make adjustments as needed
- Work with vendors as needed
- Oversee any and all equipment and maintenance
- Work with KM/GM/CM as needed
Other:
- Must be available 40 hours a week and all holidays (flexible to schedule change if needed)
- Regular Supervisory Session meetings with manager
- Other duties as assigned by KM/GM
