Job Summary:
The Restaurant Server provides excellent service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Service:
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus and provide information on daily specials and menu items.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and other staff.
- Service Execution:
- Serve food and drinks promptly and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
- Check on guests regularly to address any needs or concerns.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently for the next guests.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely and respectfully with kitchen and other staff to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate clearly effectively with team members regarding menu changes, special requests, and any guest feedback.
- Sales Responsibilities:
- Upsell menu items, including food, beverages, and desserts.
- Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Compliance and Cleanliness:
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a server in a restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
- Up-to-date certifications on all required compliance training within 30 days of hire.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education:
- Food safety and other company and industry specific certifications are required.
