Job Summary:

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, providing excellent guest service, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires a passion for coffee and the ability to create a welcoming environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Beverage Preparation:
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Guest Service:
• Greet guests warmly and take their orders accurately.
• Provide recommendations based on customer preferences and educate them about menu items.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
• Sales Responsibilities:
• Promote and upsell menu items, including pastries and seasonal specials.
• Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Cleanliness and Maintenance:
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment and dining areas.
• Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring food safety standards are met.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Assist in training new staff on coffee preparation and customer service techniques.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista or in a guest service role is preferred.
• Up-to-date certifications on all required compliance training within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Education:

• Food safety and other company and industry specific certifications are required; barista training or certification is a plus.
