Job Purpose The Manager, Kīpuka Services is responsible for overall management and oversight of staff and programs operations at the kīpuka. This position manages and optimizes processes at kīpuka to ensure maximization of programs and operational efficiencies and productivity. The Manager, Kīpuka Services leads the daily operations, resource management, and initiative implementation for a kīpuka, in compliance with industry best practices and LT policies and procedures. In conjunction with the Managing Director, this position is responsible for overall planning and implementation of kīpuka programs and operations in alignment with LT’s strategic vision.   Essential Responsibilities   People Management Responsible for the direct supervision of all kipuka teammates and efficient functions of all kipuka operations. Responsible for planning and appropriately staffing kīpuka in alignment with actual and projected program operational needs (e.g. case numbers, participant enrollment, partnerships, referrals, etc.) Monitors for quality assurance, ensuring all teammates are collaborating in a seamless fashion, minimizing silos and isolation of teammates’ responsibilities. Provides coaching and training for teammates, and support their professional career development, actively contributing to overall organizational succession and continuation plans. In collaboration with People Operations, the Manager, Kīpuka Services, is ultimately responsible for kīpuka schedule, youth events and activities, recruitment and retention. Responsible for overall management of contractor relations and external partnerships.   Program Operations: Understands kipuka goals, expected outcomes and impact.  Collaborates and supports  approval process for  program and project proposals. Ensures all teammates at kīpuka are knowledgeable of LT’s mission, strategic path, and best practices, while adhering to organizational and professional standards and objectives. Supports the integration of best practices and Native Hawaiian culture in the implementation of programs. Able to utilize and promote utilization of research and data in decision making. Ensures cohesion in the implementation of youth programs and casework, ensuring alignment and focus with LT’s mission and strategic vision. Oversees the proper integration of the roles and responsibilities of all kīpuka teammates across all areas of responsibility and service (i.e. clinicians, youth programs, facilities, and administration). Monitors and revises standard operating procedures ensuring clear direction for kīpuka teammates and flexibility to pivot as strategic initiatives are modified. Manages program coordination and the continuous assessment of program risks and efficiencies. Reviews and oversees program guidelines, quality, and effectiveness of overall programming activities and operations. Ensure prudent use of LT resources (spaces, budget, staff time, etc.) focusing on high impact and return on investment. Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with teammates from all departments and programs in the Trust.   Kīpuka Administration Ultimately responsible for overall kamaliʻi and guests experience. Reviews operational and programming needs and makes recommendations based on research, observation, and input from teammates and community. Prepares annual staffing plan and operating budget for the kīpuka. Oversees kīpuka purchases and reviews and recommends approval of contracts with vendors, contractors, and service providers. Performs and monitors financial transactions in accordance with LT guidelines. Coordinates with facilities team to ensure kīpuka upkeep and maintenance. Ultimately responsible for community relations and kīpuka representation, as well as general activities within the local community and across the pae ʻāina. Prepares and presents reports to senior leadership as required. Maintains necessary records for local procedures and activities. In collaboration with Communications team, prepares announcements, stories, and reports on kīpuka activities, program implementation, and community events to share across the organization.     Other duties: Contributes to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team and organization results. Ability to travel as needed for Trust business.   Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  At least seven (7) years of progressive and successful general leadership responsibility. Must have a strong personal fit with our non-hierarchical, no ego, strong moral compass, intellectually honest, meritocratic culture.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to respectfully advocate and harness difficult conversations. Strong business acumen with a fiduciary-like responsibility for the Queen’s Trust Action-oriented, can do attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, flexible, visionary, and innovative approach to operational management. Must be a critical thinker, possess a growth mindset, intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and unafraid to ask questions or give opinions.  Must possess strong qualitative judgment as well as quantitative aptitude, and must be driven to work hard within a high-performance team-oriented environment.  Prior experience working with non-profits in a leadership role, highly desired.     Job Competencies Systems Thinking: Ability to view the organization strategically from a systems perspective and fashion solutions to meet the Trust’s needs.
