Job Purpose:
The ʻŌlino Pathways Coordinator, Theatre and Performance is responsible for general oversight of State-wide performing arts programming, Teaching Artists, Guest Artists, and Partners. The coordinator will maintain a state-wide view and awareness of youth interests and needs in these areas, and will assist in facilitating the development of responsive, accessible, and engaging programming to meet those needs. Housed at the new Liliʻuokalani Center (LC), the ʻŌlino Pathways Coordinator, Theatre and Performance will work collaboratively with other Pathway Coordinators and LT leadership to set the vision for programming and will engage in ongoing quality assurance and evaluation efforts.
Essential Responsibilities:
Program Administration
Draft, manage, and track all program budgets related to the Theatre and Performing Arts
Oversees the administrative filing system ensuring that files are appropriately labeled, contain specific information and are properly secured. Follows standardized procedures for permanent records retention and retrieval.
Assists with scheduling meetings, preparing materials for meetings, including PowerPoint presentations and agendas, and ordering food/refreshments.
Coordinate and collaborate with our IT Department to ensure that the daily operations of all the system technologies are properly functioning i.e. computer, phones, software’s, copier, fax machine, etc.
Manage Theatre Teaching Artists, Youth Engagement Specialists, and relevant partners
Program Development
Develop and implement, in collaboration with other Pathways Coordinators, partners, and Youth Program leadership, relevant, engaging, and creative group activities, workshops, and ongoing programming inclusive of daily, weekly, and monthly schedules
Ensure an appropriate balance of drop-in and closed programming, including opportunities for special events and workshops
In collaboration with Pathways Coordinators, identify local and national subject experts and best-in-class programs in performing arts to learn from and partner with
Through intentional programmatic development, design, and implementation, cultivate a sense of community and social/emotional support for participants
Cultivate a sense of community and social/emotional support for participants through intentional programmatic development, design, and implementation
Ensure that programming emphasizes a connection to the broader world balanced with deep understanding of Native Hawaiian culture, highlighting opportunities for learning and advancement for participants while also strengthening ties to local communities
Coordinate and collaborate with the Director of Technical Services towards the set-up, implementation, and maintenance of all AV, lighting, sets, and other equipment assigned to the Theatre spaces.
Systems Management
Work collaboratively with the Director to design data collection processes that provide regular, actionable feedback from participants to inform program design and report to Research & Evaluation
Establish strong ties to LT’s Youth Advisory Committee, increasing opportunities for youth voice and youth leadership throughout performing arts program development
Work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and supervision of all program spaces
Provide program coverage as necessary
Provide ongoing support and guidance for program teammates
Community Relations
Maintain strong relationships with local and national partners and serve as a liaison for partnership implementation
Identify and cultivate, in collaboration with teammates and Community Resources team, relevant community partnerships
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends in youth services and performing arts, ensuring that community initiatives and programmatic strategies are aligned with current needs and environment
Other duties:
Participate in program planning, budget development, revision, and evaluation
Provides transportation for organization related business, such as driving staff, beneficiaries and/or families to assigned destinations
Participates in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development
Contributes to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improves team and organization results
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent 5-7 years professional experience
Valid driver’s license, clean traffic abstract
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Must be able to work independently and on a team, with both strength in leadership and collaboration

Travel Requirements:

While travel may not always be a need, the ability to travel when required remains a crucial aspect of this position.
