Peer Support Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting clients safely and efficiently while providing support and guidance during their journey. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage various situations that may arise during transport. The Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of clients, particularly those in need of behavioral health support.

Duties

• Safely transport clients to and from appointments, ensuring timely arrivals.
• Provide crisis management support when necessary, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques.
• Assist clients in navigating their mental health or addiction counseling sessions.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies to address any immediate concerns during transport.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring it meets safety standards.
• Document transportation activities and any relevant client interactions accurately.
• Foster a supportive environment through mentoring and active listening.
• Collaborate with social workers and mental health professionals to enhance client care.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in behavioral health, social work, or addiction counseling is preferred.
• Strong crisis management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques and crisis intervention methods.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Previous experience in mentoring or providing support within a mental health setting is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate client schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
