Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Responsible for completing work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of the assigned buildings utilizing work order-related software programs
- Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocol
- Assist the Supervisor in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories, and logs
- Implement, with the Supervisor, a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain all related records and logs
- Assist with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings
- Communicate effectively with appropriate individuals regarding building status and changes
- Adhere to all safety standards, policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices
- Act professionally and courteously at all times with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, etc.
- Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe, productive manner
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- 2 years of related work experience and technical training
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school training in maintenance-related courses is preferred
- Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer specifications, and written operational procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions
- Must be safety-conscious
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion
- Basic aptitude for mathematics
- Participation in an on-call rotation for 24 hour emergency response
- Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds using proper body mechanics
- Willingness to work overtime on special projects as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software
- Working knowledge of tools and their proper use
- CFC Handling Certification is preferred
