Job Title: Associate VP-US/CA Supply Chain Lead

Reports to: Sr. VP-Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Strategy

Leads the supply chain regional hub activities for the United States/Canada markets. Member of the Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy (GSC & MS) Lead Team & primary point of contact to US/CA Commercial, Finance and Supply Chain/Manufacturing/Quality leaders on any topics related to US/CA supply chain service levels, inventory controls, and distribution performance. Drives regional demand and lifecycle management processes, internal customer service, and regional supply transformation efforts that aim to optimize the results and customer experience of the US/CA region.

Responsibilities:

Functional:

  • Serves as Manufacturing & Quality’s main liaison to the US/CA leadership teams and the Therapeutic Area Leaders. Represents the US/CA leadership and product teams in GSC & MS governances.
  • Partners with Commercial/Finance Leads to develop and conduct demand planning activities for US/CA
  • Drives US/CA consensus demand planning, Integrated Business Planning, regional S&OP, forecast accuracy improvement efforts, and regional product lifecycle management activities
  • Accountable for US/CA regional supply strategy, supply chain physical/digital flows, and supply risk mitigation initiatives in domestic geographies
  • Coordinates cross functional activities to reconcile variances from original plans, maintains view of actuals against forecasted projections, and manages supply allocations and periodic optimization of supply delivery plans
  • Establishes metrics to validate forecast accuracy, as per global market scenarios, and in case of escalations, communicates corrective action(s) to management for timely resolution
  • Provides strategic inputs during development of forecasts, demand scenarios, and Business/Long Range Plans
  • Sponsors forecast accuracy/demand planning efforts by analyzing inventory consumption, turnover of supply at distribution nodes, and performance of global market tenders
  • Provides strategic guidance to manage the order fulfillment process for consumers worldwide, oversees cross-functional coordination for monitoring inventory, and establishing scalable business processes to maintain customer service standards
  • Responsible for coordination of regional product life cycle activities in coordination with Commercial, GSC Planning, GSC SC Design and Business Development teams
  • Owns US/CA inventory target setting, inventory management/controls, and supply service level performance
  • Drives supply strategy for US/CA region and orchestration of geographic specific supply chain design activities, such as regional manufacturing, local packaging customization, and placement of distribution hubs
  • Consolidates global impact of product franchises; collaborates with Associate VP-IBU Business Unit Supply Chain Lead for mapping of global supply tradeoffs, sequencing of lifecycle management activities, and escalation of supply global challenges

Leadership:

  • Communicates with executive leadership and internal cross-functional leaders and handles supply/inventory escalations for US/CA markets
  • Continually evaluates domestic supply chain capabilities, skills, and resource alignment to ensure performance against objectives
  • Establishes an effective performance management process reviewing all direct report's progress and continually develops their effectiveness as leaders and technical practitioners, providing opportunity for career development
  • Works as part of the GSC & MS Lead Team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous process improvement, digitalization efforts, and talent development activities
  • Capable to successfully work in matrix structures and to lead cross-functional programs that bring value to the enterprise
  • Provides guidance for development and coaching to direct and indirect reports to prepare employees for placement into future positions
  • Establishes an effective performance management process reviewing all direct report's progress and continually develop their effectiveness as leaders and technical practitioners, providing opportunity for career development
  • Ensures diversity, inclusion, safety, and active engagement of our Supply Chain professional supporting the US/CA markets

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or other related sciences (Master's degree preferred in the same fields)
  • Has 15 years of experience in managing supply chain activities in the pharmaceutical industry
  • 7 years of experience in supply chain demand planning in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum 5 years of managing cross-functional efforts or projects involving customer service activities

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Previous leadership experience with direct reports or executive leadership of teams
  • Has deep knowledge and ability to incorporate market events, category drivers, competitive activity and other external factors influencing demand
  • Highly developed project management, analytical and problem-solving skills; leadership experience with data management processes and advanced analytics
  • Has worked in global and multifunctional teams
  • Possesses sound knowledge of US market specifications, compliance norms and regulations
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management; ability to communicate complex concepts to others and negotiate potentially difficult and sensitive matters; experience influencing policy making bodies both internally and externally
  • Builds an innovative, diverse, world-class team; demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop & coach others, and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
  • Holds CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) and/or ASCM (Association for Supply Chain management)
  • Knowledge of GMP/GDP policies and procedures and/or exposure to clean/cold chain operations in regulated industry
  • Six sigma green / black belt with relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships internally and externally and actively engage with stakeholders

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$222,000 - $325,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
