What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Child Care Teacher position at Lily Pad Learning Center LLC?
Lily Pad Learning Center is looking for an individual who loves working with children!
Must be available to work from 7am to 530pm Monday through Friday with ages 6 weeks to 5 years. As an Assistant Child Care Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Reporting to the Lead Teacher, your core responsibilities will include classroom management, childcare, and supporting early childhood education initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in your care
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to promote child development
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and naptime
- Assist with basic needs such as feeding, diapering, and potty training
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the childcare area
Skills:
- Ability to engage children in educational activities
- Experience working in a daycare or similar childcare setting is preferred but not required
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to handle challenging behaviors with empathy
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents/guardians, and other staff members
Required Education/Training
-Must be willing to complete and pass a background check and be fingerprinted prior to being hired
-Introduction of Childcare Profession and Fundamentals of Infant & Toddler or equivalents to be completed within 3 months of starting the position
-CPR (can be completed after starting the position)
-Additional on the job training will be provided
*Minimum of 1 year previous childcare experience required.
