Your Mission as a Claims Examiner Extraordinaire:

You'll navigate the complexities of property claims with ease, keep us ahead of the curve, and help us stay profitable while always looking out for future opportunities.
What You'll Do:
- Master Claims Handling:Take charge of property claims with minimal direction, making decisions within your authority and recommending settlement values.
- Proactive Management:Handle and manage RCD claims per company and statutory guidelines, ensuring efficient and fair resolutions.
- CAT Claims Support:During high CAT claim volumes, step in to manage new, low-complexity claims.
- End-to-End Resolution:Handle claims from inception to resolution, investigating loss circumstances, applying coverage accurately, and working within assigned authority levels.
- Strategic Disposition:Direct claims to third-party partners and explore alternative resolution methods.
- Coverage Expertise:Review and determine proper policy coverages, resolving claims per company guidelines.
- Reserve Management:Open, close, and adjust reserves in line with company best practices.
- Stay Informed:Keep up-to-date with insurance products, services, and court decisions impacting claims.
- Market Knowledge:Maintain current knowledge of local industry repair procedures and pricing.
- Reporting:Submit reports, reinsurance notifications, and other information to claims leadership.
- Fraud Detection:Identify fraud and recovery opportunities.
- Customer Service Excellence:Deliver a positive customer service experience in all interactions.
- Training & Mentoring:Assist with training or presentations and mentor less experienced claims professionals.
- Vendor Management:Engage and monitor the work of outside vendors in the claim adjustment process.
- Innovative Solutions:Use your expertise to recommend and implement changes when needed.
- Creative Strategies:Develop and employ creative resolution strategies.
- Compliance:Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and unfair Claim Practice Acts.
- Team Strengthening:Actively mentor and coach less experienced claims professionals to enhance team expertise.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.)preferred from a four-year college or university.
- 1-3 yearsof homeowner and/or commercial property and liability claims experience.
- Applicable state adjuster licensewhere required and in good standing.
- Functional knowledgeof claims handling concepts, practices, and techniques, including coverage issues and product line knowledge.
- Knowledge of law and insurance regulationsin various jurisdictions.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Officeproducts (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills:Effectively communicate through strong verbal and written skills.
- Detail-oriented:Must be detail-oriented.
- Xactimate experience:Highly preferred.
- Analytical and decision-making skills:Demonstrated strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Customer service skills:Demonstrated customer service skills to interact with policyholders, partners, attorneys, and legal partners.
- Flexibility:Able to work extended hours due to weather-related events.
