What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal position at Lima Central Catholic High School?
The Principal of Lima Central Catholic High School is responsible for the day-to-day management of the religious and educational components of the school. The Principal is employed and evaluated by the Head of School as well as members of the Lima Central Catholic Board of Trustees.
The Principal shall:
Administration
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Lima Central Catholic Board of Trustees, the Catholic school's office of the Diocese of Toledo, the Ohio Department of Education, St Charles Parish, St Gerard Parish and St Rose Parish schools, and the public school districts collaborating with Lima Central Catholic.
- Serve as a nonvoting member of the LCC Board of Trustees and as an ex-officio member of the Academic Affairs, Student Experience, and Faith Formation Committees.
- Implement policies promulgated by the LCC Board of Trustees and the Catholic schools office.
- Administer Federal and State academic programs and ensure the timely completion of applications or reports required by the Catholic school's office, the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association, and the Department of Education and public school districts serving Lima Central Catholic, among others.
- Bring to the attention of the Head of School the need for new or revised policies and procedures and assist in their formulation; work closely with the Head of School and the implementation of the Strategic plan and its revision.
- Supervise and evaluate faculty, Dean of Students and main office staff.
- Submit annual personal performance objectives to the Head of School.
Religious Life
- Collaborate with the Campus Minister and members of the faculty and staff to develop programs to nurture the Catholic Identity and spirituality of administration, faculty, staff, parents and students. For faculty, this shall include an annual review of the teacher-minister contract with each teacher individually; additionally, faculty and staff shall be encouraged to integrate Catholic teaching and spiritual growth across the curriculum and to participate in worship and service in their parishes. For students, this shall include a strong religious instruction program, vibrant liturgies, frequent opportunities for worship and prayer, and engaging services opportunities.
- Faculty and Staff
- Employ, assign, supervise, observe, evaluate and, when necessary, dismiss the faculty and staff, including non-teaching academic personnel with approval from the Head of School.
- Monitor and maintain teacher certification including religious education certification.
- Encourage continual professional development, provide professional development opportunities for the faculty and staff, and assist the faculty and staff in planning their own professional development programs.
- Orient new members of the Lima Central Catholic faculty and staff.
- Supervise auxiliary service personnel and conduct an ongoing review of the effectiveness of these programs.
- Alongside the Head of School, review, update and enforce the rules and regulations delineated in the faculty handbook.
Academic Programs
- Help coordinate and attend the instructional programs of the school.
- Develop and collaborate with the faculty and staff on strong academic and religious programs for the students of Lima Central catholic. Engage in ongoing review of those programs to maintain the highest possible quality of teaching and learning
- Ensure that appropriate and adequate instructional materials and equipment are available for all teachers; monitor the school's technology plan.
Students
- Ensure that the planning and coordination of all registration and admission procedures are appropriate and effective.
- Review, update and enforce the rules and regulations delineated in the student handbook, including the suspension and dismissal of students for disciplinary reasons.
Co-Curricular Activities
- Collaborate in the establishment, maintenance and evaluation of appropriate co-curricular programs.
- Appoint, supervise, observe, evaluate and when necessary remove faculty and non-faculty advisors for school sponsors co-curricular activities.
- Work with the Athletic Director to help supervise athletic and co-curricular activities when necessary.
Communication
- Articulate the Mission Statement, Core Values, and objectives to the administration, faculty and staff, parents, students and the school community by participating in the strategic planning of the school.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
