Job Description
The teacher will be responsible for planning and teaching lessons that are equivalent to NY State Standards and LCS Student Expected Outcomes for middle school/high school math classes. The applicant should be savvy with technology and comfortable with building from an established curriculum to make it their own as well as familiarity with New York State mathematics standards. He or she will create an environment that is conducive to the academic, social, and spiritual growth of the students. In addition to teaching, he or she will be responsible for communicating effectively with students and parents regarding progress, and collaborating with other LCS staff in order to meet schoolwide curriculum goals. Strong writing skills are necessary, experience is preferred. A Bachelor of Arts in Education or related field applicable to a teaching position is required. A master’s degree in the subject area is preferred. Commencement towards certification (NY State Certification as MIddle/High School Teacher grades 7-12 and/or ACSI) is mandatory.
