What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Operator - Facilities Management-Plant Eng position at Lima Memorial Health System?
Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED) preferred. Additional trade or vocational school training is preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid driver’s license. Electrical Arc Flash Training is required within 90 days of employment, which includes a refresher class every three years.
Experience: 1 year experience in Facility Maintenance including Preventive Maintenance or related field. Healthcare experience or commercial maintenance is a plus. Snow Removal experience is preferred..
Skills: Operates and maintains the physical facilities, equipment, systems, and utilities as assigned to ensure a safe environment of care. Adheres to trade practices and codes. Responds to facility emergencies to ensure minimal disruption to patient care and to minimize facility damage. May include emergency duties such as fire control or water damage prevention from leaks Performs general industrial maintenance including installation of appropriate equipment and devices to ensure proper operation (specific to the healthcare environment). Maintenance can include; service and/or repair work on plumbing, carpentry, painting/construction HVAC, boiler system, motors, pumps, electrical components, pneumatic tube systems, lighting, beds/stretchers, medical gases, windows, doors, and operating a drain cleaning machine. Interpersonal and communication skills are required. Obtain and deliver supplies and materials when needed. Assist with moving equipment and/or office furniture. Must be able to communicate and interact with other personnel in the department and other departments in a demanding or stressful situation. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
