What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist - Outreach - Lab - Clinical position at Lima Memorial Health System?
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Phlebotomist - Outreach collects and processes blood samples for the Clinical Laboratory. Performs waived POC testing as needed. Performs patient registration, orders testing, performs EKGs, and drug screens/breath alcohol testing. Performs clerical duties and other routine duties as assigned. Works at various off site locations, including but not limited to, LACCA, health fairs, satellite collection centers, etc., to meet the needs of the health system. Participates in training of new Phlebotomists and students. Maintains the standards set forth in CLIA-88. On-call duties as assigned
Education: High School graduate or GED preferred. Completion of an approved Phlebotomy training program required.
Licensure/Certification: Phlebotomy certification required within 1 year of hire date. Acceptable certifications include: Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) from ASCP; Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) from NHA; Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) from AMT; or other approved certifications in phlebotomy as determined by departmental supervisor. BLS required.
Experience: 3 years general phlebotomy experience preferred.
Skills: Must have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
