What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Emergency Center position at Lima Memorial Health System?
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on his/her shift.
Education Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid unrestricted RN license with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Current BLS required. ACLS certification within 90 days of hire. Obtain PALS, TNCC and Trauma Core Nurse training within 12 months of hire. Basic cardiac class required.
Experience: Minimum one year current acute care RN experience and/or emergency department (ED) experience preferred.
Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement; the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must have excellent “customer service” skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Must also be cooperative and collaborative, and have the ability to work efficiently while in stressful situations. Basic computer skills and EMR (electronic medical records) experience also required.
