Summary:
The Food Service Supervisor oversees the planning, organizing, and management of food services within our organization. This role involves ensuring that meals are prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining quality and nutritional standards. The supervisor is responsible for budgeting, inventory management, staff supervision, and ensuring patient and resident satisfaction. The Food Service Supervisor manages the procurement of food, maintain relationships with vendors, and analyzes food service performance to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Oversees daily food preparation, service, and sanitation.
- Ensures compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, etc.).
- Maintains equipment and facilities.
- Streamlines processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
· Trains, schedules, and supervise food service staff (cooks, porters, etc.).
- Conducts performance evaluations and addresses employee issues.
- Fosters a positive and productive work environment.
· Menu planning, creation, and costing, considering dietary needs, preferences, and budget.
- Developing and implementing food service policies and procedures.
- Forecasting food and supply needs. Maintain inventory and place food orders.
- Monitor food quality and presentation.
- Budget preparation and management, including cost control.
- Monitoring expenditures and analyzing financial reports.
- Purchasing and inventory control, including negotiating with vendors.
- Maintaining records related to food costs, inventory, sanitation, and personnel.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (health, safety, labor).
- Preparing reports for management.
- Implement policies for employee safety
- Collaborate with other departments to meet organizational needs

Computer Skills:
· Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Microsoft 365
Education/Experience:
· Minimum of at least 5 years of experience in the food service industry; Preferred 7-10 years of experience.
· A significant portion of experience should be in a supervisory or management role within food service.
· ServSafe Certified
· Registered Dietician preferred

· Demonstrated interest in building new skills, and the ability to learn quickly.

- Working in Varying Temperatures: may work in hot kitchen environments, as well as in cooler storage areas.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
