What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Program Counselor position at Limen Recovery + Wellness?
Summary: Independently certified or licensed counselor to provide group, individual and family therapy to adults in our Intensive Outpatient Program. IOP Counselor will assist clients using best practices of group counseling techniques. Responsible for providing assessment, case management and clinical addiction and treatment services to Limen Recovery Wellness clients. The IOP Group counselor works to address other social needs and utilizes referral services for necessary hospitalization or advance assessments and/or treatments. Is proficient in cognitive behavior therapy that is trauma informed. Understands family systems work, Gestalt, mindfulness and other techniques that support their clinical practice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Complete psychosocial assessment, treatment plans and treatment plan updates within established timeframe.
2. Initiate, upon admission, discharge planning in collaboration with the client.
3. Demonstrate skill of writing individualized, behavioral and mental treatment goals based upon information on psychosocial assessment and psychiatric evaluation.
4. Conduct daily group therapy sessions. Conduct individual and/or family therapy session for every five to ten groups individuals attend or ensure individual is seen by our clinicians.
5. Collaborate with psychiatrist directing the group to ensure quality continuation of care, and schedule weekly medication management appointments.
6. Obtain insurance benefit information, authorization for treatment, and perform ongoing utilization reviews ensuring revenue is successfully received.
7. Demonstrate skill in documentation which meets all regulatory and Limen Recovery Wellness standards. Files all medical records within 24 hours of the date of service.
8. Provide ongoing outreach and marketing support.
9. Responds appropriately to patient’s requests.
10. Provide comprehensive education, instructions, and/or advocacy information designed to assist the client and significant others to secure needed health care follow up services.
11. Provide referring physicians and/or psychotherapists with weekly updates of client’s compliance with their progress in treatment.
12. Adhere to Limen Recovery Wellness Policies and Procedures.
13. Prepare and assist with audits.
14. Assist with community outreach and marketing events.
15. Ensure we are meeting all organizational goals for IOP success.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Reasoning Ability:

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent; and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Training:
· Clinical Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, or other similar program of study
Certificates and Licenses:
· Delaware State Licensure (LPCMH, LCSW, LMFT) preferred, Delaware CADC required.
· Continuing education credits (CEUs) as required by licensing/certification board.
