The Peer Support and Transportation Supervisor is a vital member of the treatment team, responsible for overseeing the peer support program and ensuring safe and reliable transportation for patients. This role combines direct peer support with supervisory duties, requiring a compassionate and experienced individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The Supervisor will foster a supportive environment for residents, promoting recovery and well-being while adhering to all regulatory requirements and agency policies.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Peer Support Program Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and supervise the peer support program, ensuring it aligns with the center's mission and evidence-based practices.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate peer support specialists, providing ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Facilitate regular peer support groups and individual sessions, as needed, modeling effective peer support techniques and fostering a safe and supportive environment.
- Develop and maintain program documentation, including progress notes, attendance records, and program evaluation data.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to integrate peer support services into the overall treatment plan for each resident.
- Advocate for residents' rights and promote their self-advocacy skills.
- Stay current with best practices in peer support and incorporate relevant research into program development.
Transportation Supervision:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive transportation schedule that meets the needs of residents, including appointments, activities, and other necessary travel.
- Supervise transportation staff (drivers), ensuring adherence to all safety regulations, vehicle maintenance schedules, and agency policies.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation logs, vehicle maintenance, and driver certifications.
- Manage vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring vehicles are safe and in good working condition.
- Address transportation-related issues and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate transportation needs for residents.
Direct Peer Support:
- Provide direct peer support to residents, sharing lived experience and offering encouragement, hope, and practical strategies for recovery.
- Assist residents in developing coping skills, problem-solving abilities, and strategies for managing their mental health.
- Support residents in connecting with community resources and building a supportive network.
- Advocate for residents' needs and preferences within the treatment setting.

Reasoning Ability:

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology) preferred, but not required with sufficient experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Peer Support Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
- 1-3 years of experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorder and mental health.
- Personal lived experience with substance abuse or mental health.
- Strong ability to motivate individuals.
- Positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate and present with self-confidence.
- Self-starter and goal driven.
- Valid driver's license.
- Exhibit organization and follow through on tasks and goals.
