What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meat Cutter/Butcher position at Limerick Supermarket?
He/She cuts and trims meat from larger, wholesale portions into steaks, chops, roasts and other cuts. Prepares sausage and burger.
He/she will wait on customers and prepare special cuts upon request.
He/She will ensure sanitary standards are met while working and when cleaning equipment, countertops, floors, walls, and working areas to prevent meat contamination.
Duties
· Sharpen, adjust knives and cutting equipment
· Receive, inspect and store meat upon delivery
· Cut, debone, and grind pieces of meat - prepare sausage, hamburger and cured meat
· Store meat in refrigerators or freezers at proper temperature
· Cuts and trims meat to size to display or as ordered by customers using hand tools, power equipment, grinder, cutting machine and saws
· Cuts and cleans fish and poultry
Place meat in containers, wrap, price and display in meat case
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
