Job Title: ACCESS FACILITATOR INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
Supervised by/Reports to: Principal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Goals:
- To assist students with online instruction throughout the class
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or two years of higher education or successful passage of the work keys test, required.
- Prior working with students with disabilities
- Able to manage dependent students, if needed.
- Knowledge understanding of academic and behavioral strategies and techniques to students in learning.
- Word processing/ computer experience.
- Good with strong interpersonal skills.
- Valid background
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Remain in the classroom during the entire class period to supervise and assist students.
- Monitor student behavior in the physical classroom as well as in the virtual classroom.
- Communicate on a day-to-day basis with the E-teacher.
- Assist students with minor technology issues.
- Ensure that students remain on task and on pace.
- Ensure the integrity of students' work.
- Support the sending teacher.
- Take attendance and send absence reports to teachers and school staff daily.
- Provide students with training on the use of e-mail, attaching documents to e-mails, and accessing online courses.
- Serve as a resource to the sending teacher.
- Report technical issues to support center staff as well as to the school and/or system technology coordinator.
- Provide necessary training to local staff to ensure effective operation of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to finger, to handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, squat, and crouch and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary: Salary to be established by The Limestone County School’s District Salary Schedule.
Terms of Employment: 182 days
