SUMMARY: The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for reconciling all insurance and patient payments between the patient accounting system and LMMC bank accounts to ensure strong financial success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Runs daily reports out of the patient payment systems, patient accounting systems, and bank accounts to reconcile and ensure all dollars are posted to the appropriate patient account/bank account
- Works with the finance and revenue cycle teams to ensure accuracy in numbers reported for patient payments and insurance payments
- Identifies any issues with what or how a payment was posted and works to identify resolutions in partnership with revenue cycle and finance to ensure all payments are posted timely and accurately
- Monthly will report out on trends to finance leadership
- Demonstrate solid judgment and discretion working with confidential information
- Comply with all department and company guidelines including all applicable laws and regulations.
- Work with teams inside and outside the department, and external customers as needed to ensure best-in-class revenue cycle operation.
- Assist patients when calling in regarding a payment they paid or what they need to pay

QUALIFICATIONS:
- In office (Omaha) Monday-Friday
- 2-3 years experience in professional fee revenue cycle, previous reconciliation experience a plus
- Solid working knowledge of how to apply co-pays, deductibles, work authorizations, and read payer eligibility information
- Proficient in medical software and technology
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to answer patient and insurance company questions
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong problem solving skills
- Results oriented
