Job Summary: The Training Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing training programs to ensure staff compliance with required certifications and organizational standards. This role involves conducting a variety of training sessions, maintaining accurate training records, scheduling recertifications, and ensuring effective communication regarding training needs. The Training Specialist will also travel to different locations to provide on-site training and continuously assess and improve training curriculums to meet organizational and regulatory requirements. The Training Specialist plays a crucial role in equipping staff with the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality care while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years of age
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Training, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Training Specialist, Trainer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of CBRF Medication Administration, First Aid, Fire Safety, and Safety Care Training (certifications preferred)
- Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed
- A valid driver's license and a driving record which allows the candidate to be covered by a company insurance policy
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide array of individuals
- Ability to work autonomously, with minimal direction
- Maintain a strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including those related to health, safety, and care for individuals with disabilities and training needs
- Maintain a respectful relationship with clients and employees of residential facilities
- Knowledge of technology sufficient to use company computer hardware and software, web-based technology, and handheld devices
- While performing the duties of this job, the Training Specialist is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The Training Specialist is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.
- The Training Specialist must be able to conduct hands-on demonstrations, including assisting in physical intervention techniques as required by Safety Care training
Job Duties
- Training Delivery: The Training Specialist will conduct and facilitate various sessions, including but not limited to CBRF Medication Administration, CBRF First Aid, CBRF Fire Safety, Safety Care, Annual Refresher, and other mandatory and specialized training as required. The Training Specialist must stay informed on best practices in adult education and training methodologies to enhance learning experiences.
- Training Administration: The Training Specialist will maintain accurate training logs and reconcile records to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. The Training Specialist will schedule recertifications for staff to ensure timely renewal of credentials. The Training Specialist will send reminders and updates to supervisors and employees regarding upcoming training sessions and certification expirations.
- Curriculum Development and Management: The Training Specialist will build, modify, and update training curriculums to align with organizational needs and regulatory standards. The Training Specialist will ensure training materials are engaging, up-to-date, and accessible for all staff. The Training Specialist will implement improvements to enhance learning outcomes and engagement.
- Compliance and Reporting: The Training Specialist will monitor training completion rates and generate regular reports for supervisors and management. The Training Specialist will ensure all training programs meet state and federal requirements.
- Travel and On-Site Training: The Training Specialist will travel to various company locations to conduct in-person training sessions. The Training Specialist will adapt training methods to fit the needs of different locations and teams
- Communication: The Training Specialist works with the management team to promote, develop, and maintain effective communication processes. The Training Specialist acts as a professional representative of the company.
- Organizational Participation: The Training Specialist is familiar with the mission, vision, and values of the company.
- Professionalism: The Training Specialist pursues knowledge and information necessary to perform job duties, follows ethical practices, maintains confidentiality, and builds professional relationships with supervisors and employees.
