We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Spanish Interpreter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating communication between Spanish-speaking individuals and English-speaking professionals in various settings, including hospitals, social work environments, and child protective services. This role requires fluency in both languages and the ability to interpret complex medical and social information accurately.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate interpretation services for Spanish-speaking clients in medical, social work, and child protective services settings.
- Translate documents and medical records to ensure clear understanding between parties.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to interpretation sessions.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, social workers, and clients to ensure all parties understand the information being conveyed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all interpreted information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize American Sign Language as needed to assist clients with hearing impairments.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance interpreting skills.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
- Previous experience in interpretation or translation, particularly in medical or social work settings, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and accurately.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation review processes is a plus.
- Experience working within hospital environments or child protective services is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret both spoken language and written documentation effectively.
