This role is essential for providing support to clients in need of assistance while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Interpret conversations between Spanish-speaking clients and English-speaking professionals in real-time.
- Review documentation to ensure accurate understanding and conveyance of information.
- Provide interpretation services in medical settings, including hospitals, ensuring clarity in communication regarding medical terminology.
- Assist in child protective services by interpreting discussions related to social work and client welfare.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines during all interactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure effective communication.
- Stay updated on relevant terminology and practices within the fields of healthcare and social work.
Skills
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
- Experience or knowledge in child protective services and social work practices.
- Strong interpretative skills with the ability to convey messages accurately and sensitively.
- Attention to detail for documentation review and compliance with legal standards.
