Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals with autism and other developmental disorders, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is crucial in providing support and enhancing the quality of life for our clients through effective behavioral strategies.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the BCBA.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress for research and analysis.
- Assist in the development of care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient care and support during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to promote consistent behavioral practices across settings.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance skills in applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social skills, communication, and independence.
Qualifications
- Experience or education in special education, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and medical documentation.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health practices, particularly in working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
- Ability to collect and analyze research data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a strong desire to make a positive impact on clients' lives.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
