The Big Picture:

The Product Manager – Fraud and Compliance is responsible for leading and overseeing all activities that drive the overall success of their respective product portfolio, including membership satisfaction, operational integrity and profitability. Key responsibilities include developing strategies based on the evolving insurance compliance and fraud prevention landscape, deploying product management and development best practices to execute on business plans for their portfolio; leading product development initiatives; leverage their specialized experience to lead engagement with compliance professionals, members and external partners; monitor and assess external factors that impact the success of their respective product portfolio.

What will you be doing?

Product Management

  • Demonstrate accountability for business planning and execution of key priorities and objectives for LIMRA’s suite of compliance solutions.
  • Ensure LIMRA’s suite of compliance solutions meet the financial objectives of the organization and are delivered to our membership in a profitable and sustainable way.
  • Actively manage financial results, as measured by the attainment of annual operating income targets and manage regular product pricing processes that support the profitability of LIMRA’s compliance suite of solutions.
  • Lead engagement across the organization, and external partners, to understand the drivers of product utilization and revenue trends, membership feedback and operational/experience needs
  • Strategically manage external partners; establish clear roles and responsibilities, manage contract terms, understand their business model, services, and costs and assess impact on strategies and business plans.

Product Development
  • Drive and influence product development processes from ideation to commercialization, including making informed decisions on priorities based on cost benefit analysis and viability assessments.
  • Lead innovation and collaboration processes to achieve growth objectives including the development of business cases, designing solution/offering and membership experience, and oversee the delivery of the solution/offering to market using product development disciplines
  • Engage and leverage member industry resources and experience to evaluate, select and develop products and services.
  • Manage cross-functional teams including marketing, IT, and sales to define solution design and go-to-market strategies.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve division and organizational objectives.
  • Use their specialized industry experience and understanding of markets and competitors to identify opportunities and threats and ensure that LIMRA’s compliance suite of solutions remains relevant to our membership, as measured by adoption rates and revenue trends
  • Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise for compliance and related fraud issues and emerging trends within the insurance and financial services industry for all products within their respective portfolio; develop agendas for member collaboration groups and drive engagement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and adjust business plans as necessary.
  • Identify and assess new business opportunities and partnerships that will help our members more effectively and efficiently manage their compliance obligations

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience within a life insurance and/or annuity carrier where responsibilities included the management of some/all of the following compliance programs: rules and regulation change management, AML, elder exploitation, suitability, agent/advisor/sales oversight, agent/advisor licensing and appointments, market conduct exams, compliance training (AML, elder exploitation, conflict of interest, fraud prevention, privacy, etc.)
  • 2 years of demonstrated success in a product management, product development, business management or strategic planning role
  • 10 years of professional experience within the financial services and/or insurance industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong subject matter expertise with the ability to translate business and technical requirements to team members, stakeholders and partners (both internal and external)
  • Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of an organization, including senior leaders, seasoned compliance professionals, stakeholders and implementation teams
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to partner with other divisions, including Sales, IT and Finance
  • Ability to influence decisions and champion product objectives and process changes based on specialized knowledge and experience,
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to leverage research and data to develop strategies and support decisions
  • Proven ability to develop and drive execution of business strategies, plans, and initiatives through implementation
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing several deliverables and priorities
  • Experience leading cross functional teams
