What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Helper position at LIMRIC Plumbing, Heating and Air?
The Role:
As a Plumbing Apprentice/Helper, you will work as part of a dynamic and passionate team to assist in the success of the plumbing department.
Plumbing Apprentices/helpers support Plumbers in the maintenance, operation, repair, and replacement of plumbing systems. They assist with and perform installation and maintenance tasks in order to ensure the effective operation of various plumbing equipment.
They work under the direct supervision of Plumbers as trainees and assistants performing less-skilled tasks for a non-designated amount of time before moving into a Plumbing Service Technician role. The position will be based in our office, with opportunities to travel to the market you are working in.
Apprentices generally assist and ride-along for 6 months to 1 year before attending a weeklong plumbing school for specific hands-on training. Apprentices are also required to attend a Nexstar Service System class to train on the “art of the service call”. Typically, apprentices are able to run their own service truck within one year of starting the program, but this varies with each person.
Responsibilities:
- Complete all general Plumbing in-home, service calls, and installations.
- Support the plumbing department by completing various assigned tasks.
Requirements:
- Push, carry, lift, and pull objects weighing as much as 70 pounds.
- Work while standing, sitting, or laying down.
- Handle fine manipulations.
- Maneuver in tight spaces, climb ladders.
- Bend, squat, crawl, and climb repeatedly.
- Know how to stay safe when exposed to gases, fumes, and dust.
- Clean, safe driving record.
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
