This role is all about bringing technical designs to life through precise and innovative CAD work. As a CAD Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing detailed 2D and 3D models to support engineering, manufacturing, and product development teams. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Work within engineering programs to review, correct, create, and release ECN’s, drawings, documents, and CAD models.
- Utilizing Inventor and Solid Works 3D software, draft detailed working drawings of products and associated components.
- Draft multiple views of assemblies, sub-assemblies, layouts, wiring diagrams and associated bills of material. Show dimensions, materials to be used and other information necessary to make drawings clear and complete.
- Reviewing and revising designs based on feedback, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Collaborating with engineers and other teams to translate concepts into accurate technical designs
- Modify and revise drawings to reflect design changes, correct errors and reduce production problems.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Participate in training of other team members.
- Assist other departments with drawings or designs as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in CAD Design, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Equivalent experience with a strong portfolio of CAD work is also acceptable.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or product development environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools. Familiarity with 3D modeling, rendering, and blueprint creation is essential.
- Bonus points for experience with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software or GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Certifications: CAD certifications (e.g., AutoCAD Certified Professional) are a plus but not mandatory.
