We are seeking an experienced Junior Accounting Clerk to join our growing Accounting team. The ideal candidate must be a team player with excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post customer payments by recording checks, credit card, and ACH/Wire payments.
- Maintain daily cash posting files.
- Generate and send invoices and account statements to customers.
- Maintain accounts receivable files and records.
- Make collection calls professionally while maintaining outstanding customer relations.
- Ensure timely payment collections from customers.
- Verify and resolve account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, customer service, quality departments, and customers.
- Perform bank reconciliation and credit card reconciliation.
- Perform inventory cycle counts.
- Assist with sales tax filing.
- Assist in certain monthly close activities.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role preferred; relevant internships or coursework may be considered for entry-level candidates.
- ERP experience is required; SAP experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and advanced functions).
- Experience with cost reconciliation and month-end/year-end closing.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and accounting software such as Paylocity.
Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
