What you’ll be doing:
- Monitor/control construction projects through administrative direction of on-site contacts to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures
- Clearly define project goals/objectives, create project “cook books”, monitor costs, and serve as customers’ main point of contact throughout project lifespan
- Initiate and maintain relationships with prime clients and contacts in order to facilitate construction activities
- Refine project budget as needed to ensure timeliness and fiscal responsibility
- Direct Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Project Assistants Provide project managers with feedback, encouragement and advice
- Supervise the work of Project Managers when necessary
- Troubleshoot problems that arise during projects
- Lead assigned projects to completion
- Represent company in project meetings, assist in strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with client
- Other duties as assigned
- Develop individual project plans complete with budgetary information and resource needs
- Communicate with our IT department about resource allocation
- Host a project meeting at least once per week for each project under your direction
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed
- Communicate project objectives to all team members involve
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree; or 10 years of previous experience in construction, design, finance, or project management
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
- Previous experience managing people
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities
- Ability to communicate both verbally and through writing in a professional, courteous and knowledgeable manner
- Ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines and urgency and complete them in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to comprehend, summarize, edit and analyze data
- Ability to create, edit and analyze Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, PDF files and Power Point presentations
- Ability to create, navigate, search and update Rogers Electric’s systems (work orders, reports, quotes, invoices, emails, etc.)
- Previous people management/supervisory experience required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in computer- or business-related discipline required (Master’s degree preferred)
- 10 years’ experience in software development or design
- 6 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- Ability to complete projects on time and within the stated budget
- Excellent communication, organization, time-management and leadership skill
