Painter for Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
Position Summary:
Ensure machines are painted properly prior to delivery to customer. Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections, conduct routine minor paint repairs and re-fits, and ensure equipment is cleaned to our customer requirements prior to shipping.
Performance Expectations:
· Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items with protective or decorative coatings.
· Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes
· May prepare and apply stencils, computer-generated decals, or other decorative items on finished products.
· Select appropriate paint or mix paints according to a pre-determined formula.
· Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment. Clean other equipment including paint area, and cones, spray heads, etc. as required.
· Operate or tend to Skyjack equipment in order to clean, wash, strip, and sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare items for application of paint, lacquer or other protective or decorative coatings.
· Assist with pre-delivery inspections and complete basic assembly re-fits as per customer requirements, as required
· Ensure that all equipment is prepped, cleaned, and ready for shipment.
· Track and document paint material usage. Ensure that all necessary paperwork / systems entry is complete and accurate.
· Maintain a safe work area, ensuring proper clean up
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Credentials:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· The successful candidate would need to gain a license or certification to operate a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) equipment.
· Bilingual (English & Spanish) is an advantage.
Desired Characteristics:
· Experience as an industrial spray painter using conventional and/or air-assisted automated painting system.
· Ability to read hazard signs, and signs regarding the use of protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves. Read product labels and paint codes.
· Has a mechanical aptitude.
· Will be organized and detail oriented.
· Must work efficiently, safely, either independently or with a team.
· Must have strong communication skills.
· Must have computer experience i.e. work with Microsoft products.
· Is self-motivated to complete the required daily tasks within the specified deadlines.
· Has the ability to continuously learn on the job.
