Job Title: Senior Metrologist
Job Summary
The Metrologist will develop, calibrate, and maintain measurement instruments and systems to ensure the highest accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical expertise, and a commitment to precision in measurement processes.
Responsibility
- Develop and analyze measurement instruments and systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of measurement equipment.
- Analyze measurement data to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Develop and implement measurement procedures and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO/IEC 17025.
- Provide technical support and training to other departments regarding measurement techniques and equipment usage.
- Conduct MSA Studies to qualify Gauges used in production to enhance and improve measurement techniques and technologies.
- Lead and Support Design of Experiments to support process improvements throughout the facility
- Collaborate with engineers and production to resolve measurement-related challenges.
- Certify equipment and processes according to national and international standards.
- Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to measurement and inspection processes.
- Analyze Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs and compare results to CAD models and customer prints.
- Develop detailed inspection plans based on customer prints and requirements.
- Lead and support the creation of CMM/3D Scan programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Engineering, or relative experience.
- 6 Years working in the Metrologist role or Senior CMM/Programming Role
- Experience with calibration and measurement systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in measurement software and tools, PC/DMIS/Polyworks/
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO/IEC 17025/ISO 1101/ ISO 16782/ ASME Y14.5 IATF 16949/ISO 9001
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve quality and measurement objectives.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and its application in measurement processes.
- Ability to analyze CMM programs and correlate data with CAD models and customer specifications.
- Experience creating inspection plans based on customer prints and requirements.
