Structure and Mechanism Development Lead Engineer

Position Description :
The Structure and Mechanism Development Lead Engineer will lead the development efforts for damper systems designed to manage or mitigate a given structure’s adverse dynamic behavior. This position will conduct and lead damper system development from requirements definition through installation of functioning systems.
Responsibilities :
- Ability to analyze mechanical systems for dynamic response
- Ability to design damper systems to mitigate or manage dynamic response
- Ability to demonstrate design function via test and analysis
- Able to conduct and lead research in damper systems development
- Demonstrated ability to develop a research task plan
- Work and guide work to plan
- Track work accomplished
- Know when to divert from plan
- Demonstrated ability to manage project requirements
- Ability to prioritize requirements
- Develop methods to meet requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead small teams
- Positive leadership skills
- Ability to mentor junior engineers

Qualifications :
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural or Civil Engineering or a degree in a related technical discipline synergistic with mechanical dynamics control and mitigation. Advanced degree preferred with a research emphasis in mechanics or dynamics but not required. Typical experience requirements are an advanced degree with 15 years of experience at increasing levels of responsibility for increasingly technically challenging projects. Have conducted research in mechanical dynamics control and mitigation. Have developed damper system designs.
