Packaging Automation Specialist
Job Summary:
The Packaging Automation Specialist will drive and coordinate automation projects to support related field sales applications. This includes pre-sales work to recommend solutions uniquely suited to the customer requirements. Managing the post-sale coordination between customers, vendors, and internal personal to ensure a successful customer experience as well as promoting technical service and consumable business. Sales resource for Packaging Sales Team, focused on the technical aspects of the sales process.
Responsibilities:
- Primary technical resource for the field sales team for automation and integrated projects.
- Responsible for the creation and recommendation of technical product solutions.
- Establishes and maintains effective communications with equipment and automation related vendors. field sales and technical service representatives.
- Responsible for supporting field sales in application evaluation / requirement discovery and for providing solution design for marking and coding, conveyor, fully automatic equipment applications, and related integration requirements by recommending value-added solutions to accommodate unique customer applications.
- Primary LINC resource to manage the post-sale project management requirements to include delivery, FAT, setup and training and/or installation. This includes communication of customer installation requirements.
- Assist in presentation of solutions and products to clients.
- Driving and managing the technical evaluation stage of the sales process as well as execution.
- Assist with equipment and technology demonstrations as needed.
- Must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to end user stakeholders.
- Must be able to identify all technical issues of application to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
- Able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
Experience, Skill, & Abilities:
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Excellent communication and technical sales presentation skills.
- Able to perform product and technology demonstration including proof of concept deployment.
- Verbal and written skills required to accommodate phone, appointment, and email communication for application information and quote requests.
- Account management, business development and sales process knowledge
- Experience working in the packaging industry is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD, ladder logic, and electrical controls is desired.
- Must be able to maintain professional demeanor during stressful situations.
- Able to interact positively and productively across the functions within the organization.
- Ability and willingness to make timely decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions; and include appropriate people in decision-making process.
- Able to manage shifting priorities and to consistently meet commitments and deadlines.
- Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFP’s
- Travels to support FSR activity / projects and Vendor related trips as needed. Overnight stays are expected as travel requirements demand.
- CRM activity required to position appointments and opportunity updates as needed.
Education / Training:
BS in Industrial Technology or Engineering with a manufacturing emphasis.
