Job Description
Position Purpose:
A management position which oversees the activities and functions of the Packaging Technical Service team. Coordinate activities of technicians engaged in providing technical service repair, preventative maintenance, startups and installations. Develops policies and procedures for the company’s Packaging Service Department, in conjunction with the Equipment and Service director. Interprets and clarifies company policies and procedures for customers both internal and external. Coordinates with other departments and personnel in providing an exceptional customer experience to the company’s customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Field packaging service for all LINC branches to include scheduled maintenance, setup & training, reactive service calls, retrofit projects, and rebuild programs. Oversee field service technician’s daily activity and assist in scheduling customer priorities and startup / installation requirements.
Utilize reporting to measure daily activity for the packaging service team to include hours billed, packaging service labor, preventative maintenance backorders.
Creates positive and proactive communication with other sales and service team members, and internal departments of the company. Work closely with sales management to keep abreast of changes and needs of end-user service needs and application requirements.
Works closely with customer service and purchasing team members regarding parts inventory requirements, installation needs, service ticket requirements, equipment transfers, and car stock needs.
Organize and lead weekly, monthly discussions for packaging service team related to topics such as new and existing parts providers, new equipment vendor opportunities, and scheduling. Travels to service locations and customers regularly to meet with service personnel.
Establishes and maintains effective communications with all service-related vendors. Represents LINC Systems in a positive and professional manner in all dealings with customers and suppliers.
Selects qualified personnel and provides or ensures effective on-the-job training; identifies training and developmental needs for the department. Be a teacher and resource for other LINC staff members for coaching and training requirements.
Evaluates and rates the performance of subordinates; makes recommendations to upper management regarding wage increases, promotions, discharges, layoffs, etc.
Effectively demonstrates leadership for department personnel through the proper use of time management, delegation of tasks and positive attitude. Maintains morale by creating an atmosphere of fairness, consistency and setting high standards for conduct and productivity. Leads by example.
