What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician - Clerical position at Lincare Pharmacy Services Inc.?
This employee is responsible for obtaining complete and accurate documentation for prescription fulfillment and billing.
- Communicates with customers for the purpose of answer questions and refilling medications and/or supplies
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation and processing of customer orders
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews and enters prescription and/or medical documentation to fulfill dispensing RXs and Billing RXs for pharmacy and Insurance
- Generates accurate prescriptions to be faxed to providers for approval
- responsible for accurate entry of prescriptions into the pharmacy system
- Communicates with providers the required documentation needed to complete an order an obtain RX renewal
- Verifies and confirms Medicare Part B benefits and supplemental insurance coverage as needed with Physician office and insurance companies
- Obtains pre-certifications and written insurance verifications as need
- Communicates with customers via inbound and outbound manual and/or automated calls
- Enters customer orders and information in computerized system
- Verifies and updates demographic information such as address and telephone number as well as document information
- Mails required paperwork to and gathers and submits paperwork for new and reactivated customers
- Enters and files customer documents such as billing forms as required into the EMR
- Responsible for working the Pharmacy CDR queue
- Troubleshoot issues with customers account such as tracking packages and prescription questions
- Pulls and packages appropriate equipment and/or medications to fill order
- Affixes proper prescription and barcode labels to medication boxes, handwrites any special instructions, and forwards to the filled order to the RPh for verification prior to shipment
- Stocks workstations with appropriate supplies, product, and/or equipment, and maintain a safe work environment
- Prepares packages for shipment
- Must be a self-starter who is an organized, multi-tasking, prioritizing team player with effective communication skills
- Strong phone and computer etiquette
Education and Experience:
- Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year clerical/office experiences.
- Prior medical office experience and/or Respiratory knowledge helpful.
- Education to meet state licensure requirements as directed by state of authority.
- Have Missouri Pharmacy Technician License or ability to obtain within requested time
- May operate forklift and/or pallet jack
Physical Demands:
The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
