This employee assists the Pharmacist in Charge in ensuring the legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
- Acquiring and maintaining multi-state licensure, directing pharmacy workflow, etc.
- Completes staff pharmacist and administrative tasks/duties as delegated
- backing up the Pharmacist in Charge in the daily operations of the pharmacy
- Assists the Pharmacist-In-Charge in the selection, training, and supervision of department
- Provides leadership and guidance to technicians and other pharmacy staff in daily tasks
- Provides disciplinary corrections to employees in accordance with approved procedure
- Completes time keeping corrections and time card approvals
- Performs both administrative and staff pharmacist tasks
- Provides clinical evaluation on prescriptions for appropriateness, accuracy, interactions, and claims
- Consults directly with physicians and other health care staff regarding clarification and therapy intervention
- Dispenses prescriptions per regulatory standards and guidelines
- Consults patients regarding their medication therapy
- Keeps abreast of current state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations to meet all licensing standards
- Leads and present various training classes for pharmacy staff
- Leads and complete various pharmacy projects
