Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic school leader to work alongside experienced administration as a Vice Principal in SY 25-26 with the potential to transition into the Secondary Principal position at Lincoln Academy in SY 26-27.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Promote and embody the mission, vision, and values of Lincoln Academy: Serve as an active advocate for the Academy’s vision of academic excellence, integrity, and community involvement. Ensure that all actions and communications align with the school’s mission and core values of Student Focus, Growth Mindset, Automatic Optimism, Loyalty, and Accountability.
- Establish and maintain high standards: Foster a school culture that prioritizes the success of students and staff. Promote high expectations for student achievement and faculty performance.
- Maintain a visible presence with the school community: Build relationships with students, staff, and parents, demonstrating strong leadership and a commitment to the school’s values.
- Communicate effectively: Ensure clear, open, and professional communication both orally and in writing with students, staff, and parents.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee Student Discipline:
· Promote a positive, respectful school culture by ensuring that student discipline is handled consistently, fairly, and in alignment with Lincoln Academy’s core values.
· Support faculty and staff in implementing proactive behavior management strategies that encourage positive student behavior and uphold school expectations.
· Work closely with the principal and administrative team to address and resolve disciplinary issues, ensuring that interventions are restorative and designed to help students learn from their mistakes.
· Maintain clear, accurate records of student discipline cases and collaborate with faculty and parents to create action plans that support student growth and accountability.
· Model accountability and optimism by addressing student behavior in a way that fosters understanding and encourages students to take responsibility for their actions.
- Support faculty development: Assist in the training, evaluation, and mentoring of teachers, helping them grow professionally and effectively implement the school’s curricular initiatives.
- Lead instructional management: Actively participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs, ensuring they support student success and encourage innovative teaching methods.
- Analyze student performance data: Use data to inform instructional decisions and identify areas for improvement.
- Support school operations: Help plan and execute school assemblies, events, and day-to-day operations that align with the school’s values and enhance the learning environment.
Instructional Supervision and Staff Development:
- Encourage a growth mindset within the staff by providing opportunities for continuous professional development. Encourage positive morale by recognizing and celebrating staff achievements while providing constructive feedback.
- Support staff in creating a positive, student-centered environment: Promote the use of strategies that foster respect, responsibility, and a commitment to growth in students.
- Ensure alignment with Lincoln Academy's core values: Actively participate in the school’s student discipline process, ensuring that interventions align with the values of loyalty, optimism, and accountability.
- Promote teacher excellence: Regularly observe classrooms and provide feedback to encourage continuous improvement. Support teachers by offering strategies to enhance classroom management, teaching methodology, and student engagement.
Daily Operations and Building Management:
- Create a positive and aesthetically pleasing learning environment: Foster a safe, welcoming, and inspiring school environment that reflects the values of Lincoln Academy. Ensure the school facilities are well-maintained and that both students and staff show respect for the physical environment.
- Act proactively in crisis situations: Anticipate potential challenges and implement effective solutions with a focus on positive outcomes.
- Support the implementation of extracurricular activities: Help plan, supervise, and participate in extra and co-curricular programs that align with the Academy’s mission and support student growth.
Parent and Community Relations:
- Foster strong relationships with parents and the broader community: Ensure that parents are involved in their child’s educational experience and promote the school through outreach programs.
- Promote Lincoln Academy’s values to the broader public: Support programs that connect the school with local resources and the larger community.
- Build school traditions that reflect Lincoln Academy’s values: Help establish and maintain traditions that align with the school’s mission, such as community service, parent involvement, and student achievement celebrations.
Supplemental Functions of the Position:
- Demonstrate continued growth: Engage in professional development to stay current with educational best practices and contribute to the professional community.
- Work closely with the administration: Maintain consistent communication with the administration and attend school board meetings when invited to ensure alignment with school goals.
- Participate in accreditation-related activities: Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain accreditation standards and participate in assessments to enhance the quality of education.
- Foster a collaborative and solution-focused culture: Lead efforts to improve school operations by working with faculty, staff, and community members to identify issues and find solutions that support the mission of the school.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years of classroom teaching experience: Proven experience in delivering high-quality instruction and managing a classroom effectively in the secondary setting.
- Master’s degree with administrative certificate and experience: A graduate degree in education and administrative certificate and prior experience in educational leadership.
- Experience in an administrative role preferred: Previous experience as an administrator, with a focus on supporting staff, students, and school operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15-30 pounds occasionally
