The Role
LAC is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to join our collaborative team of professionals who are preserving and building multi-family affordable housing through the United States. We're looking for someone who can support our rapid growth via their involvement in the corporate finance function. Responsibilities will be dynamic as the needs of our business grow and evolve. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting but is ready to move out of a strictly accounting role, is comfortable joining an entrepreneurial environment, and is enthusiastic about our impact-focused mission.
This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office), and you will report to the Finance Manager.

Requirements
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare quarterly valuations for all real estate holdings, including calculations of discounted cash flow models
- Maintain a quarterly schedule of real estate owned to track DSCRs, LTV ratios, and other metrics requested by lenders
- Complete due diligence and KYC forms for prospective lenders, investors, and external partners
- Maintain internal deliverables for employees' allocation of equity, valuation of equity, and related vesting, and calculate employee distributions
- Maintain workbook tracking allocations related to collateralized loan obligations and work with counterparties to process quarterly funding/distributions
- Assist with corporate cash flow projections, including gathering inputs for transactions in the pipeline, projecting fee income, and estimating surplus cash distributions
- Coordinate UST investments, line of credit draws, and bank account set-up.
- Design, implement, and continually strengthen key policies, procedures, and controls for the finance and accounting teams
- Perform special projects or duties as assigned
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize key deliverables
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, and intellectually curious
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a growing environment
- A high level of professionalism and integrity in dealing with confidential issues
- Aptitude for creating strong internal relationships within LAC. Must be a strong collaborator among peer groups within the company
- Passionate and aligned with the company's double bottom line mission: generating appropriate returns for investors and managing great, stable communities for our residents
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- 3-5 years of experience working in the field of finance or accounting
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Preferred qualifications include:
- CPA license
- Experience at a "Big 4" public accounting firm
- Background with real estate and partnership accounting
- Audit background strongly preferred
- Experience with low-income housing tax credits and/or investment management is a plus
