Certified Application Counselor
Summary:
- Assisting individuals and families in enrolling in health insurance plans through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace.
- Providing education and guidance to clients on the ACA and available health insurance options.
- Conducting outreach and enrollment events in the community to promote the ACA and assist with ACA enrollments.
- Maintaining accurate records of client interactions and enrollment activities.
- Collaborating with other community organizations and healthcare
- providers to ensure access to healthcare for all individuals.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of program and community resources within Durham community is preferred. Knowledge of basic computer skills such as Word and Excel. Ability to be a team player. Must be able to exercise discretion in all matters related to the enrollment process. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Must be able to demonstrate understanding and thoughtfulness with community members who face a myriad of socio-economic challenges. Must have a passion for health equity and social justice. Must receive Marketplace ACA certification. Bilingual required!
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in health administration, public health, or public administration.
- At least two years' experience within community service, health or social service sector.
- Ability to travel to outreach and enrollment sites; must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proper car insurance.
