Lincoln Contractors Supply (LCS) is a family owned and operated company founded in 1956. With 11 locations throughout the state. LCS leads the industry in retail sales, service, and rental of construction equipment and supplies. We currently employ 140 full-time people and continue to grow.
We are looking to add a Service Technician to our Madison location.
The Service Technician is a hands-on position requiring superior customer service skills along with some mechanical aptitude or repair knowledge. The successful candidate will multi-task in a variety of daily branch service activities.
Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fleet equipment. Analyzes mechanical and operational problems assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action.
Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Taking customer phone calls
- Respond to outside service calls as needed
- Day to day responsibilities may include pressure washing equipment, checking over equipment for proper and safe operation, maintaining and servicing equipment, part lookup and repair estimate write ups.
- Understands customer needs and ensures that those needs are met in a timely manner.
- Assisting customers with part inquires, and order placing
- Learns and maintains operating procedures of service equipment and can inform customers of correct operation procedures.
- · Employee would be required to investigate and diagnose faults and failures of equipment and recommend repair suggestions.
- · Provide customer with repair estimates for owned equipment
- Provide estimates to upper management for rental repairs
Service Mechanic Qualifications:
- Basic small engine knowledge and mechanical ability is desired.
- Some basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds. Some heavy lifting is required.
- Courteous and professional customer service to all internal/external customers.
- Ability to read and understand parts diagrams, schematics and other materials as required to diagnose and repair equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, reach as needed to complete repairs.
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly and or occasionally
- Ability to work outdoors when required. Requires ability to work in both hot and cold weather.
