Position Summary
This is a seasonal position maintaining the County parks
Lincoln County Parks Department is looking to bring on a few seasonal parks maintenance positions to help keep our parks safe and clean through the busiest part of the year.
This position fulfills a compelling need by ensuring our parks remain safe, clean, and accessible for the public during the busiest months of the year (April – September). With over 333 acres to maintain, additional seasonal staff is essential for mowing, string trimming, and restroom cleaning to keep up with increased park usage and the grass growing season. Additionally, well-maintained parks encourage visitor satisfaction, which supports park revenue through reservations.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
JOB FUNCTIONS
Clean park facilities:
- Pick up trash/litter.
- Clean and stock restroom facilities.
- Collect garbage.
Mow lawn areas, trim bushes, shrub, and tree:
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs on mowers and attachments.
- Operate; push mowers, single deck riding mower, pick-up truck, small trailers, chain saw, small compressors, small generators, weed eaters (string line trimmers), blowers, etc.
Perform heavy manual tasks such as digging ditches and carrying supplies:
- Construct park trails, picnic tables, benches, footbridges, fire pits, signs, etc.
- Construct new park structures and facilities.
Respond to inquiries from the public:
- Enforce Lincoln County Code and park rules in the parks.
Prepare planting areas and plant trees, shrubs, and other plant materials
fertilizer and mulches plant materials:
- Remove hazardous trees.
- Trim shrubs and trees.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum Experience Level
None
Driver’s License:
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire
