Assisting with food orders/supplies and rotation/stocking of the same.
Prepare meals for inmate detainees in the county correctional facility. Also prepare meals for corrections staff, juvenile shelter/detention:

Maintain communication log with Food Service Manager and Cooks to insure uniformity, quality, and continuity. |
Maintain kitchen records and transfer kitchen debris to a central location. |
Place orders in absence of Cook/Food Service Manager:

Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum Experience Level
One year
Specifics: One year of experience in volume cooking in an institution or commercial firm.
Substitution Note: Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the above-described duties as determined by the County.
Certifications
Certification(s) required
Specifics: Ability to acquire food handler certificate from the State of Oregon.
Driver’s License
Oregon Driver's License required
Specifics: Must obtain within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge of:
- Materials and methods used in institutional or commercial food preparation.
- Care and use of kitchen equipment.
- Radio communications.
Skill or ability to:
- Supervise and work with inmate help.
- Use, clean, and perform general upkeep of kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, mixers, steamers, slicers, dishwashers, etc.
- Creatively use leftovers to satisfy food preparation needs.
- Attend defensive tactics and CPR Training for support staff.
- Convey information, ideas, and facts both orally and in writing to supervisors, colleagues, and individuals, inside and outside the county, using language and a format the audience will best understand.
- Utilize computers and other technology to communicate in written and verbal forms (e.g., word processing, texts, emails, spreadsheets, department-specific software).
- Effectively relate well with others, including supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the county. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and working to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work. Show up to work on time, and follows instructions, policies, and procedures. Meet productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.
