What You Will Do
- Support Plant Engineers and other departments with the creation and/or modification of 3D models, detail manufacturing drafts, and facility layout drawings.
- Reverse engineer components from physical parts, or legacy drawings.
- Create, modify, curate, and store electronic files using document management systems and/or database system.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of templates and schematics.
- Maintain mechanical CAD procedures and standards by correcting user drawings and practices, and verify and resolve issues with CAD documentation that does not meet the defined Plant Engineering standard.
- Support internal and external fabrication through the creation of supporting files such as .DXF, .PDF, or .STP.
- Document existing production and facility support equipment.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the department's goals and the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
- Minimum of a High School Education or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in design and drafting.
- Technically proficient in one of the following Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Catia, or NX.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Experience with data management systems (PDM/PLM) using Autodesk Vault or Siemens TeamCenter.
- Experience with the use of measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Exposed to machine shop or metal manufacturing processes.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft software applications.
- Highly motivated to quickly learn 3D CAD drafting, detail print making skills, and drafting applications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Self-motivated with a high level of ownership.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Able to work on the production floor to perform equipment measurements and design concepts.
